Welcome to FarmGirl Collective
FarmGirls Collective, founded in 2007, is a loose organization of three (so far) organic farms in Carnation, Washington. We sell at local Farmers Markets and also offer CSA membership — which can supply your family with fresh produce every week all season long. Join us!
Why Did We FarmGirls Start FarmGirl Collective?
Though we three had been friends for many years, we always set up our farm stands across from one another at market, competing for the same produce dollars. But we are far from competitive: we support and help one another with farm-related issues, go out for dinner and drinks, buy potting soil in bulk together, give each other leftover plant starts, work on each other's farms in a crunch — all gestures that make for good farm neighbors. And friends. We have always valued each other's farming, and wanted to join forces to "grow good food" together and market it as one, not three, different farms. We also want to pursue our own lives beyond the farm life, hard to do when you are up to your ears in weeds, harvest, transplants, etc...and so FarmGirl became a way for us to spell one another and still keep our farms afloat!
Through the years ahead, we may expand or contract our numbers according to our needs and our lives. Lord knows there are lots of eligible FarmGrils out there! But we will always be FarmGirls: Gals Growin' Good Food.
